The Baltimore Ravens have faced another blow following quarterback Joe Flacco’s knee injury that has forced him out for the rest of the season. Joe Flacco’s season ended prematurely on Sunday at the M&T stadium when the Ravens beat St Louis Rams 16-13.
Not only has Flacco been forced out of the season, but his 2016 season is also in jeopardy. Many of the Ravens players have gone down with injuries, and Flacco’s latest injury is such a disappointment in their campaign. This year, the ravens have had 3 wins and 18 of its players have suffered season ending injuries.
At least one ligament on Flacco’s left knee is torn. Matt Scuab will be his replacement starting next week. This will be the first time since 2007 that The Ravens will have a different starting quarterback. After the game, Flacco said, “I am still in shock a little bit. You play football and you play as long as I have and you play as hard as we do out there, then stuff like this happens. You have to just stand tall and be tough about it. That’s all you can do. I think that is the way I am about everything in my life, and I’m not going to be any different this time.”
Joe Flacco had not missed a single game in his first seven NFL season s but he now faces a long rehabilitation. Due to this injury, The Ravens might consider signing or drafting a potential starting quarterback this off-season. This injury might just complicate the negotiations.
When asked about how the injury will affect his future, he said, “I have no idea at his point. We just have to see what we can do and get back as quick as possible.”
The Ravens are not yet sure about the extent of the damage on his knee which got hurt when James Hurst (backup left tackle) rolled into him.
